When you ask Flux for service recommendations, it can show you local providers on a map, ranked by ratings and quality signals. You don’t need to leave the conversation to find a shop.

How it works

Ask Flux for a service recommendation

Ask something like “Where should I get my brakes done near me?” or tap the Service Options quick reply button after a Flux response.

Provide your location

Flux asks for your zip code, or your city and state. Type it in and send.

Review the results

Flux returns a list of nearby providers with a map view. Results include ratings, review counts, and distance from your location.

What affects rankings

Providers are ranked based on ratings, number of reviews, and other quality signals from Google Maps. Results are not paid placements — Flux does not accept payment from shops to appear in recommendations. Flux searches within a 10-mile radius of your location and returns up to 9 results.

Types of providers you’ll find

Depending on your search, results may include independent shops, specialists, dealerships, and national chains. The right type of shop depends on what your car needs.

When to use each type

A specialist focuses on a specific brand, system, or repair type — for example, a European auto specialist or a transmission shop.Best for:
  • Complex or brand-specific repairs (e.g., BMW, Subaru, Mercedes-Benz)
  • Repairs that require deep expertise in one area, like transmission rebuilds or diesel engines
  • Situations where a general shop has already misdiagnosed the problem
